Aeon Style Opens in Musashimurayama! New Supermarket Launching June 12 on Former Daiei Site
Four months have passed since Daiei Musashimurayama closed on February 19, 2026. A new store is finally coming to the Inagaira site.

A New Supermarket Opens in Musashimurayama South on June 12
Aeon Retail will open "Aeon Style Musashimurayama Minami" at 3-36-1 Inagaira, Musashimurayama City on Friday, June 12, 2026.
The store will be open every day from 8:00 to 22:00.
The site covers approximately 35,000 square meters, with a sales floor of about 2,459 square meters.
With parking for 851 vehicles, driving to the store is no problem at all.
Daiei's 25-Year History Comes to a Close
This site was home to Daiei Musashimurayama, which opened in November 2000.
The two-story store featured a directly operated floor for food and daily goods on the first floor, while the second floor housed tenants including Nishimatsuya, a 100-yen shop, and a game center.
For many years, it was a daily destination for residents of the Inagaira, Zanbori, and Mitsufuji neighborhoods.
Daiei's Kanto operations were transferred to Aeon Food Style in March 2026.
The Musashimurayama store closed ahead of that transition on February 19 of the same year, and after approximately four months of renovation, it is now reopening as Aeon Style.
A "Daily Food Supermarket" with Enhanced Fresh and Deli Offerings
The concept for the new store is a supermarket stocked with food and everyday essentials.
A highlight is the introduction of a face-to-face fresh fish counter.
Sourcing seasonal fish from Toyosu Market and other suppliers, it aims to support everyday meals with a focus on freshness.
A local produce corner featuring vegetables grown in Musashimurayama City will also make its debut.
This creates an opportunity for residents to buy locally grown vegetables right in their own neighborhood.
In addition, the store plans to offer a rich lineup of deli items including in-store-made sweets, yakitori, pizza, and freshly baked bread.
An expanded selection of ready-to-eat and prepared foods could make it a go-to spot for busy families and single-person households alike.
Why This Matters for Daily Life in Musashimurayama
Musashimurayama City is known as the only city in Tokyo without a railway line.
Residents rely primarily on cars and buses for daily travel, which makes the presence of a neighborhood supermarket directly tied to quality of life.
Approximately 85,000 people live within a 3-kilometer radius of Aeon Style Musashimurayama Minami.
The area has a high concentration of families in their 40s and single-person households, with strong demand for everyday food shopping.
The city already has "Aeon Style Musashi Murayama," and the roles of the two stores have been clearly defined.
The large commercial complex "Aeon Mall Musashi Murayama" serves as a "hub for shopping and leisure," while Aeon Style Musashimurayama Minami is positioned as the "neighborhood daily supermarket."
Access
The store is located along Shin-Ome Kaido (Prefectural Road No. 5), right near the Musashimurayama City Hall intersection.
By bus, take a route bus from Tachikawa Station, Tamagawa Josui Station, or Higashi-Yamato-shi Station and get off at the "Danchi Iriguchi" stop, then walk about 2 minutes.
The "Musashimurayama Shiyakusho-mae" bus stop is also nearby.
A Shopping Hub Returns to Musashimurayama South
Four months since Daiei closed its doors.
A place long loved by the community is coming back as a new supermarket with enhanced fresh and deli offerings.
The opening day, Friday, June 12, is expected to be busy — but it's well worth a visit.
