TOHO Cinemas Tachikawa Tachihi Raises Ticket Prices From July 1, General Admission Up to 2,100 Yen

TOHO Cinemas Tachikawa Tachihi will revise its movie ticket prices starting July 1, 2026 (Wednesday).
The chain is moving away from its long-standing nationwide flat-rate system, shifting instead to prices set individually by each theater — that's the big change this time.

TOHO Cinemas Tachikawa Tachihi Raises Ticket Prices From July 1, General Admission Up to 2,100 Yen

At Tachikawa Tachihi, the general admission price will rise from the current 2,000 yen to 2,100 yen.
Official pricing is confirmed on the TOHO Cinemas fee revision notice and the TOHO Cinemas Tachikawa Tachihi price and discount table.

Why the Price Hike Now

The increase appears to reflect rising electricity costs, higher labor costs, and increased material costs driven by a weaker yen — all part of the shifting cost environment theaters are facing.
Under the new system, theaters in central Tokyo areas — such as Hibiya, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro — will charge 2,200 yen for general admission, while theaters in the Tama area, including Tachikawa Tachihi, are set at 2,100 yen.
Even within Tokyo, the price of a movie ticket now depends on where you happen to live.

Tachikawa Tachihi's New Price List

Student and children's fares are being revised as well.
University and vocational school students will see fares rise from 1,500 yen to 1,600 yen, while high school, junior high, and elementary school students will go from 1,000 yen to 1,100 yen — a 100 yen increase across the board.
Senior tickets (age 60 and up), "TOHO Wednesday," and "First Day" (the 1st of each month) will rise nationwide from 1,300 yen to 1,400 yen.
Meanwhile, discounts for people with disabilities, "Movie Day" on December 1 every year, and TOHO-ONE member days remain unchanged, so you can keep using them at the current prices.

Points to Keep in Mind if You Watch Movies at Tachikawa Tachihi

For anyone who regularly visits Tachikawa Tachihi, this 100 yen bump quietly adds up.
For a family of four, that's an extra 400 yen per outing — and for frequent moviegoers, it can make a noticeable difference over the course of a year.
Advance tickets like Movie Ticket (Mubichike), including ones already purchased, are said to remain valid at the pre-revision price.
If you have plans that straddle July 1, it might be worth locking in your tickets before the end of June.

Staying Close to Tachikawa Tachihi Going Forward

The price increase itself isn't great news, but Tachikawa Tachihi remains a must-visit spot for movie lovers in the Tama area, thanks to its convenient location near the station and well-equipped screens.
Make good use of Wednesday and First Day discounts, and you can still catch a movie for 1,400 yen even after the revision.
