Whisper of the Heart Exhibit Jun 14
A free panel exhibition featuring Miyazaki's storyboard paintings for Whisper of the Heart runs through June 14 in Seiseki-Sakuragaoka. A voice cast talk show is held on the final day, just steps from Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Station.

The rainy season has made Seiseki-Sakuragaoka extra special this year. The Keio Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Shopping Center is currently hosting a display of Hayao Miyazaki's storyboard paintings for the Studio Ghibli film Whisper of the Heart, with Sunday, June 14 as the final day.
What Is "The Town Where Shizuku Lives"?
"The Town Where Shizuku Lives" is a series of storyboard paintings created by director Hayao Miyazaki during production of Whisper of the Heart. The artwork depicts the neighborhood where protagonist Shizuku lives, and a side-by-side comparison with the present-day streets of Seiseki-Sakuragaoka is also on display. Admission is free; the exhibition is installed on the walkway bridge on the 7th floor of the AB building of Keio Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Shopping Center.
Voice Cast Talk Show on June 14
A special talk show featuring voice cast members from Whisper of the Heart is scheduled for the final day, Sunday, June 14. Yoko Honna, who voiced the protagonist Shizuku, is among those expected to appear. The event is expected to cover the cast's memories of the film and their connection to Seiseki-Sakuragaoka. Check the organizer's official page for event times and ticketing details.
Pilgrimage Spots Around Seiseki-Sakuragaoka
The Seiseki-Sakuragaoka area is dotted with filming locations fans will recognize: the slope Shizuku ran down (Iroha-zaka) and the site of the model for the antique shop among others. The Tama City Tourist Information Center distributes pilgrimage maps, and many visitors combine the exhibition with a self-guided walking tour. The major spots are all within walking distance of the station.
Access and Tips
The Keio Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Shopping Center is directly connected to Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Station on the Keio Line. The exhibition is free and walk-in, but expect crowds on the final day, June 14—arriving in the morning is recommended for a better experience.
Visit Seiseki-Sakuragaoka This Rainy Weekend
Stroll the hillside streets of Seiseki-Sakuragaoka while immersing yourself in the world of Whisper of the Heart. Stone steps and slopes glistening in the rain evoke the film's most memorable scenes. The panel exhibition closes June 14—don't miss it.
