Fuchu no Mori Park Wading Pool Opens July 1! Kids' Summer Runs Through the End of September

The wading pool at Tokyo Metropolitan Fuchu no Mori Park (Asama-cho, Fuchu City) is scheduled to open from Wednesday, July 1 through Tuesday, September 30, 2026.
The opening has been generating buzz on social media through the park's official accounts, the Tokyo Metropolitan Park Association, and parenting-focused accounts — drawing attention from families with young children in the area.

Fuchu no Mori Park Wading Pool Opens July 1! Kids' Summer Runs Through the End of September

Last summer (2025), the pool was open from July 19 through August 31, but this year it kicks off earlier on July 1 and runs all the way to the end of September.
It's a great schedule that covers the entire summer break.

For the latest information on the 2026 schedule, be sure to check the Fuchu no Mori Park Official Website.

What Kind of Place Is the Wading Pool?

The wading pool at Fuchu no Mori Park features different water depths and flows depending on the area.
With shallow puddle zones, stepped flowing sections, and a fountain area, there's something for kids of all ages — from toddlers to older children.
Free admission and easy access are what have made it a long-time favorite for local families.

Plan around the usual hours of 9:30–16:00 (subject to change depending on the year).
Some weeks may include closures for inspection and cleaning.

One important thing to know: children who are not yet potty-trained cannot use the pool.
This includes swim diapers. Be sure to check before your first visit.

"Once They're Out of Diapers, Let's Go!" — A Treat for Parents Too

The park is spacious, so you can play ball on the lawn or spread out a picnic lunch in the shade before or after water play.
The classic approach is to arrive in the morning, enjoy the water, and make a day of it with lunch.
Weekend mornings tend to get crowded — arriving early is the best way to have a comfortable visit.

Fuchu City Art Museum is also located within Fuchu no Mori Park.
After splashing around, stepping inside for some cool air-conditioned time is a great option too.

Back to Fuchu's Summer Classic

The wading pool has become such a beloved summer tradition for Fuchu families that the question "When does it open this year?" comes up every season.
Mark your calendar for the July 1 opening and start making plans.
On a hot summer morning, you can already picture the smiling faces of children splashing in the water.
