Kokubunji Residents to Receive 6,000 Yen Shopping Vouchers — Bunbun Vouchers Arriving from June
With prices continuing to rise, Kokubunji City is distributing 6,000 yen worth of "Bunbun Shopping Vouchers" to all residents.

All Residents Eligible — Vouchers Arriving by Mail from June
The "Bunbun Shopping Voucher" is a card-type shopping voucher issued by Kokubunji City to counter rising prices.
All residents registered in Kokubunji City are eligible, with one card (worth 6,000 yen) issued per person.
Distribution is scheduled to begin in early June 2026, with vouchers sent by registered mail on a household basis.
The city's total issuance is approximately 798 million yen (based on the city's estimated number of eligible recipients).
Supporting Household Budgets While Boosting the Local Economy
This initiative comes in response to the ongoing burden that rising prices have placed on household finances.
Funded by the national "Emergency Grants for Price Hike Countermeasures," the program aims both to offset daily living costs for residents and to boost sales for small and medium-sized businesses within the city.
As a measure that simultaneously addresses household financial support and local economic revitalization, the mayor of Kokubunji City also announced it on their official X account.
City facility accounts posted similar announcements, and the program is also being broadcast on J:COM Channel as the city ramps up public awareness.
Usable at Supermarkets and Convenience Stores Across the City
The Bunbun Shopping Voucher is a card-type voucher printed with a QR code.
To use it, simply present the card at a participating store and have the staff scan the QR code.
Participating stores are expected to include small and medium-sized businesses in Kokubunji City, as well as convenience stores, supermarkets, and drugstores.
Being able to use the voucher right where you already shop is one of the biggest draws of this program.
A list of participating stores is scheduled to be included as a flyer in the June 15, 2026 edition of the city newsletter.
Stores joining after June 16 will be added to the list on a rolling basis.
You can also check the latest store information on the official website: Bunbun Shopping Voucher Official Site.
Check Your Voucher as Soon as It Arrives — Don't Miss the Expiry Date
Since the voucher is delivered by registered mail, you can pick it up as soon as it is dropped in your mailbox.
As of now, the city has not officially announced the start and end dates for usage — please check the official site or city newsletter for details.
To avoid missing the deadline, be sure to check the contents of your voucher right when it arrives.
